Permatex Electrical Contact Cleaner

Permatex! Non-Flammable Electrical Contact Cleaner is a
non-conductive, fast-evaporating cleaner that leaves no
residue. The product is suited for cleaning electrical and
electronic devices. It is designed to be an alternative to CFC113 or HCFC’s and 1,1,1-trichloroethane solvents.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Used as an electrical contact cleaner to remove grease, dirt,
oil, flux and other surface contaminants from sensitive
electrical/electronic devices. Permatex! Non-Flammable
Electrical Contact Cleaner can also be used to clean
motorized instruments, control panels, electrically driven parts,
motors, and other electronic devices requiring non-flammable,
non-conductive low residue degreasing agents.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

1. Hold can 6 to 8 inches from surface to be cleaned.
2. Spray surfaces liberally.
3. The extension tube can be used to pinpoint application.
4. Allow the solvent time to evaporate until the surfaces
   are completely dry.

For Cleanup

1. Clean hands with Permatex! brand hand cleaners.

COMPATIBILITY

Non-Flammable Electrical Contact Cleaner is compatible with
most metals, many plastics and elastomers. The following
table shows the effects of the product on samples that were
immersed for 30 minutes at 20°C (68°F). After removing from
the solvent, each specimen was wiped dry and allowed to
stand for ~30 minutes prior to testing. Since plastics and
elastomers can be formulated and manufactured to have a
wide range of physical properties, it is recommended that
compatibility for a particular grade or product formulation be
established prior to cleaning. The following table shows the
effects of the product on various plastics and elastomers.

INCOMPATIBILITIES

Non-Flammable Electrical Contact Cleaner may be
incompatible with some powdered or finely divided/abraded
aluminum. It is recommended that the compatibility be
established prior to cleaning.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen
and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected
for use with chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.

STORAGE

Products shall be ideally stored in a cool, dry location in
unopened containers at a temperature between 8° to 28°C
(46° to 82°F) unless otherwise labeled. Optimal storage is at
the lower half of this temperature range.
